Slight Mold Infestation in a Westerly Home's Ceiling
Mold growths that appear in the ceiling area mean there is a water source that needs fixing. Our SERVPRO crew can discover and repair the water leak in the attic crawlspace as the first step in a mold remediation project. Since we strive to restore and not replace damaged building elements, we worked hard to scrape away the light mold colonies from the surfaces. How? We can use small, portable vacuums with a HEPA filter to trap the spores and particles and also a process called "soda blasting." Bicarbonate of soda is used as a medium to gently chafe off the layer of mold while also assisting with the natural deodorization of the affected room. The After Photo illustrates the ceiling, now cleared of mold and ready for a minor repainting. We follow the best practices of the IICRC as skilled AMRT applied microbial remediation technicians to safely remove the fungi, "Like it never even happened."
